Description
Seeking a PR Lead to drive media strategy and coverage. A proactive volunteer to lead public relations and media outreach efforts for PyCon HK 2026, raising awareness of the conference across tech media, mainstream press, community blogs, and industry publications. A flexible workload with tasks assigned weekly based on personal capacity, averaging around 5 hours per week. Drafting press releases, media advisories, and media kits to highlight conference themes, keynote speakers, and community initiatives. Researching and contacting journalists, tech editors, media outlets, and community partners across both tech and general industry sectors. Managing media inquiries, coordinating media passes/interviews during the conference, and tracking press coverage. Attendance at a 30-minute briefing call and pre-event orientation to align on PyCon HK 2026 key messaging, brand guidelines, and media protocols
