備註
- Seed to Textile is CHAT’s flagship community programme. Through hands-on experiences ranging from farming to gallery practice and performances, it introduces artists and Seeders – passionate members of the public – to the connections between nature, textiles and art.The programme started with a special gift from Mysore, India. In 2019, artists and organic farmers Vivek and Juli Cariappa shared Indian indigo seeds with us. The gift has since taken root at CHAT, inspiring a series of co-creative workshops that explore natural resources. This year, we have invited fashion designer Yeung Chin, choreographer Alan Wong and Indian dance artist Neesha Jhaveri to lead Seeders on a journey of creative discovery, but also explore the historical ties between nature and textiles. The programme focuses on transforming raw natural elements (through rooftop farming) into artistic expressions, specifically in sustainable fashion design and contemporary dance inspired by Indian culture. We are looking for you to join us on this exciting exploration! CHAT provides a comprehensive creative space for Seeders to nurture their vision and skills. Seeders have a unique opportunity for urban farming and hands-on textile experimentation at The Deck (the rooftop farm of The Mills) and CHAT Studio. They will join workshops led by industry professionals. The curriculum covers natural dyeing techniques, sustainable fashion design, and contemporary dance movement. Also, they will be integrated into a diverse social network, providing the resource of cultural exchange with people from various ethnic backgrounds. To honor this dedication, a certificate will be awarded to Seeders who achieve an attendance rate of 80% or higher, serving as a valuable credential for your future artistic journey.
