Description
This program is made possible thanks to the generous support of
The Starbucks Foundation.
Description: In Hong Kong, where over 1.4 million individuals live below the poverty line and nearly two-thirds of impoverished families face food insecurity, the need to address hunger and food waste is becoming increasingly prominent. To address this issue, Feeding Hong Kong's food bank workout session provides an opportunity for like-minded individuals to come together and make a positive impact on the community.
Throughout the session, volunteers will engage in activities such as manual checking, organising, and repackaging donated food items in order to guarantee food safety and adherence to expiration dates. Their involvement will help charity distributions that aim to decreasing food waste and combatting hunger.
Volunteers will carry out their tasks at Feeding Hong Kong's Warehouse, located in Yau Tong, where they will be able to witness firsthand the essential work that goes into managing and distributing food resources to those who need them most.
