Description
Description: Plastic Free Seas, 大便妹,學環保 and Here in Nature have partnered to organise a cigarette butt cleanup in support of global No Butts Day. This action aims to raise awareness of cigarette butt pollution and gather data to encourage legislation banning disposable cigarette butts.
A volunteer leader will meet you at the start of the event, provide a safety and instruction brief, and a debrief at the end of the cleanup.
This event is open for individuals age 16+. Adults can bring one child between the ages of 5 and 15. The child must be signed up on the children's event page.
Time: 4 pm - 5 pm
Meeting point: Tseung Kwan O MTR Station Exit A2
What you will do: Collect used cigarette butts you find on the ground, and count them at the end of the event
* Gloves and BBQ-style tongs will be provided
* Wear comfortable shoes and clothing, a hat, bring a full reusable water bottle and sun protection
* Bring a backpack that is easy to carry your belongings in while picking up cigarette butts
* Bring a small bag or container to collect cigarette butts in
Remarks:
* Please do not bring single-use items to this event, such as disposable plastic bottles, disposable raincoats, etc.
* All participants must be signed up for this event. Volunteers must not bring friends or family members (children) who are not signed up.
* Volunteers will receive a detailed service reminder email one day before the event.
