The program will host a series of seminars aimed at enhancing participants' understanding of cultural inclusion and promoting diversity in society. Below are the details of the seminars: Topic: Making CommUnity a Reality: Enhancing Chinese Language and Cultural Competence for Non-Chinese Students This will be an interactive session covering the following key areas: - A general introduction to the challenges that non-Chinese primary students face in Hong Kong. - An overview of CantoGather's work, including an introduction to our programmes. - A mini-intercultural competence training segment, highlighting its relevance to education. - Discussion of teaching strategies for Chinese as a second language, including practical exercises. - A reflective discussion on desired changes in mainstream schools. Speaker: CantoGather Language: Cantonese Date: Wednesday, May 28, 2025 Time: 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM (including Q&A session) Venue: Kwun Tong (participants will be notified once application is accepted) Participants are required to complete the online course beforehand.
