Description Join Feeding Hong Kong to combat food waste and feed those in need! Every Tuesday and Thursday evening, hundreds of bakeries donate their unsold surplus bread. We are looking for passionate volunteer leaders to manage our collection hubs, coordinate our "Bread Runners," and ensure food safety standards are met. This session on-site will serve as an orientation and hands-on training session. You will support hub operations on the day while learning the ropes alongside their team. After your initial session, the organizer will contact you directly to provide ongoing support and help you schedule your upcoming regular shifts. Volunteer Roles Support hub management and logistics to oversee collected bread, manage inventory, and ensure basic food storage hygiene and safety standards are strictly followed. Coordinate Bread Runner volunteers as they deliver collected bread to the hub. Help log volunteer attendance, hours, impact metrics, and photo records. Represent Feeding Hong Kong, foster a welcoming atmosphere, and respond to volunteer enquiries in a professional and positive manner. Volunteer Requirements Able to commit to at least one shift per week for a three-month period to complete training and build role familiarity Willing to work evening shifts on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills High attention to detail and basic familiarity with Microsoft Excel A positive, "can-do" attitude with the ability to motivate diverse groups of people Basic understanding of food storage hygiene and safety (guidance will be provided) Remarks Connect with passionate, like-minded people from diverse backgrounds while making a direct impact on local food redistribution and environmental sustainability. Please note that this role involves handling crates/bags of bread and standing for extended periods during shift hours Upon registration, our coordinator will reach out to confirm your orientation date and answer any questions you may have.
