Be an Event Volunteer at the Redress Sort-a-Thon event

Description: Sort-a-Thon: The environmental charity Redress will be running Hong Kong’s largest sorting event - Sort-a-Thon. The aim of the event is to sort through all of the items collected during the Get Redressed Clothing Drive. Volunteers are needed to help to support the operations of the event, including replenishment of sorting tables, checking sorted items, sorting boxes management. What You Will Be Doing: Replenishment of sorting tables - Transferring items from clothing mountain to sorting tables Checking sorted items - Check if sorted items are in the correct category Sorting boxes management - Assisting with replenishing empty boxes and notifying when boxes are becoming full. Due to the specific nature of these tasks, we'll ask all volunteers signing up for Sort-A-Thon event days (June 11-13) to also join an online training session on 4 June (details will be sent by email). During the training, you will gain a deeper understanding of the categories and learn the best practices for systematic clothing sorting. Remarks: 1. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age 2. Please wear comfortable, casual attire with closed-toe shoes and bring your own reusable water bottle with water refilling stations on site 3. Kindly note that photographs may be taken during the event for documentation, promotional and reporting purposes. **We warmly welcome individual volunteers to join our efforts in reducing clothing waste alongside other community members. Please note that these volunteer sessions are not intended for company team-building or company-organised group participation, and are meant for individual sign-ups only.
